Common questions
Straight answers to what clients usually ask about this service.
How long after year end do I have to file accounts?
A private limited company generally has 9 months after its accounting reference date to file accounts with Companies House. The first accounts follow different rules, so we confirm your dates once we know your incorporation date.
What happens if I file late?
Companies House applies automatic late filing penalties that increase the later the accounts arrive, and a late Corporation Tax return carries its own HMRC penalty. Directors are responsible for filing on time, which is why we work to dates set well ahead of the deadline.
Can you take over from my previous accountant?
Yes. Send us the last set of accounts and any records the previous accountant holds. We review them before picking up the work and tell you what is missing.
